The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) is reporting that one of its officers has tested positive for COVID-19.

On Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 21), Hamilton Police Tweeted that a member assigned to the East End detachment, located on King Street East, tested positive for the virus this week.

They note that the officer in question was last at work on Monday (Oct. 19) according to the Tweet.

“HPS is working closely with Public Health on contact tracing while the member recovers at home,” a press release sent out Wednesday said. “All areas where the member worked have undergone a deep cleaning.”
