Hamilton Police seize $500,000 worth of drugs while probing domestic case

Hamilton Police say they uncovered half-million-dollars worth in street drugs inside a Stoney Creek residence as they investigated a number of domestic-related offences.

Hamilton Police say they uncovered half-million-dollars worth in street drugs inside a Stoney Creek residence as they investigated a number of domestic-related offences.

Three people who lived in the residence have since been charged, police say.

On Monday (March 16) Hamilton Police began an investigation into numerous domestic-related offences involving a Hamilton man named Michael Joseph Dalia.

As a result, an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of:

  • Assault level One X 6
  • Assault with a weapon X 3
  • Assault cause bodily harm X 2
  • Assault cause bodily harm – choking X 2
  • Criminal harassment X 2
  • Forcible confinement X 3
  • Mischief under $5000 X 2
  • Theft under $5000
  • Utter threat to cause death

On Wednesday, police located the suspect and he was subsequently arrested.

A search warrant was executed at the 51 Greening Avenue residence where he lived which resulted in additional drug charges being laid.

Police seized over half-a-million-dollars’ worth of street drugs inside the home. This included blue and orange fentanyl, heroin and cocaine.

Approximately $120,000 in cash and a replica airsoft handgun were also seized.

Occupants of the residence, who reports say are the suspect’s parents, are also facing charges.

Luisa Casciola-Dalia, 64-years-old and Carmen Dalia 68-years-old, as well as Michael, face the following charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Heroin
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000
