Hamilton Police seize $110,000 worth of drugs in Grimsby bust

Hamilton Police Vice and Drugs Unit have seized over $110,000 worth of street drugs from a Grimsby address.

Hamilton Police Vice and Drugs Unit have seized over $110,000 worth of street drugs from a Grimsby address.

A man and a woman with ties to the address have been arrested and charged with several criminal offences.

On Wednesday (Feb. 12), shortly after 11:30 a.m., police observed a man and a woman exit from a home known for trafficking Methamphetamine.

The couple left in a pick-up truck and drove to Lake Street and Bartlett Street in Stoney Creek where they were stopped and placed under arrest. They were both transported back to Central Custody and charged with multiple drug offences with their bail opposed.

Later that afternoon police executed a search warrant at the Grimsby residence and located drugs, stolen property and Canadian Currency.

The following items were seized by police:

  • Silver Revolver 357 – airsoft gun
  • Prohibited weapon – Knife
  • Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) –10 litres
  • Methamphetamine – 38 grams
  • Cocaine – 970 grams
  • Cocaine – 28 grams
  • Oxycodone pills – 200 pills
  • Digital scale x 2
  • Canadian Currency excess of $5000

Street Value of Drugs ($110,000.00)

  • Cocaine – $97,000.00
  • GHB – $6000.00
  • Methamphetamine – $3800.00
  • Oxycodone – $2000

Stolen Property Located:

  • High-end bicycles
  • Brand new power tools
  • Cement saw
  • Several brand new snow blowers

Hamilton Police B.E.A.R. Unit has taken over the stolen property investigation. Information on these items will be shared at a later date.

Gabe Sciarra, a 39-year-old Grimsby resident faces the following charges:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) x 2
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone x 2
  • Proceeds of Crime over $5000
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2

Hamilton resident Kathleen McKenna, 37, is facing the following charges:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone
  • Proceeds of Crime over $5000
