Hamilton Police seek witness for Sept. 21 murder

Hamilton Police are asking the public to help find a man who may be a witness to a murder.

Amy Hagar, 20, originally from Brampton, was found dead in her Hamilton apartment near King St. E. and Sherman Ave. just after 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21

Shaun Chiasson, 39, who lived with the woman in the apartment and identified as her boyfriend was subsequently charged with her murder.

Police now say the man seen in this picture may have information that could assist in the investigation

The man being sought visited the apartment on that day between 3:45 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. His image was captured on surveillance cameras from 907 King Street East. Detectives believe the male may have information however, he has not contacted police.

He is described as:

  • Male
  • Caucasian
  • 5’8″ – 5’10” tall
  • 225 lbs approximately
  • Dark brown hair, above the ears
  • Bootstrap beard and moustache
  • Glasses
  • White Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Cap
  • White ½ zip sweatshirt
  • Dark coloured track pants
