Hamilton Police have released a picture of the city’s 3rd homicide victim of 2021 as they continue to look for answers into the man’s death over the weekend.

On Tuesday afternoon (March 2), police Tweeted that the family of Tyler Pratt shared a photo of the 39-year-old who was fatally shot Sunday evening (Feb. 28) in Stoney Creek.

Pratt, originally from British Columbia, was found dead from gunshot wounds on a property on Arvin Avenue shortly after 7 p.m.

A 26-year-old woman was also found suffering from serious injuries on the property and was rushed to the hospital, where she remains in serious condition.

Police believe the suspects in the case fled the scene in a new model white Land Rover SUV.

During a press conference Monday morning, police urged members of the public who might have information to come forward.

They are still working to determine a motive for the shooting and are continuing to search for the suspect vehicle.

Investigators are requesting members of the community who were travelling on Arvin Ave or Barton St. East between Fruitland and Green Rd between 7 and 7:20 p.m. to contact the police with any information.

Anyone with information is asked to call 905-546-4123.
