Hamilton police on the hunt for robbery suspects

Hamilton Police say they are investigating a series of robberies at various locations within the city.

One suspect has been identified but one suspect’s identity remains outstanding and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

On Thursday (Dec. 12) at approximately 8:30 p.m., a lone suspect entered a convenience store in the area of King St E and Gage Ave N brandishing a firearm.

The suspect demanded cash from the clerk but left the store when confronted by the clerk.

Shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Friday (Dec 13), the same suspect and another man, who has since been identified, proceeded to commit two additional robberies involving a firearm at separate locations in the area of Upper Sherman/Mohawk Rd E and Upper Paradise/Mohawk Rd W.

Hamilton Police have reasonable grounds to believe 19-year-old Tyrell Downey is involved in the offences.

If located, do not approach, contact police immediately as the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Police are seeking assistance in identifying the other suspect in these robberies.

The unknown suspect (suspect #1 pictured above) is a man in his early 20s who has dirty blonde hair. At the time of the incidents, he was wearing a Canada Goose style coat with fur hood, black pants with a white stripe down each leg and black boots

Police say both suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

Do not approach and contact 911 immediately if seen or located.
