Hamilton Police looking for driver, passengers of car involved in crash that killed motorcyclist

Hamilton Police are searching for a driver and possible passengers in a car involved in a collision that killed a motorcyclist Monday night (May 17).
Hamilton Police said in a press release that they were called shortly after 11 p.m. to Limeridge Road East, just west of Upper Kenilworth Avenue, to reports of a motor vehicle collision between a yellow 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle and grey 2020 Hyundai Sonata.
“Preliminary information indicates that a grey 2020 Hyundai Sonata was travelling eastbound on Limeridge Road East and began to conduct a U-Turn,” police said in the release.
The man driving the motorcycle reportedly struck the driver’s side of the Hyundai and became wedged under the vehicle.
“The Hyundai driver completed a U-Turn and continued eastbound 100 metres with the motorcyclist dragging under the vehicle,” police said.
“The driver and possible passengers of the Hyundai exited the vehicle and fled the scene.”

Hamilton Paramedics, Hamilton Fire and Hamilton Police responded to the collision and the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
An investigation is being conducted by the Collision Reconstruction Unit and Mountain Station Detectives.
Police said they are working to identify the motorcyclist and the Hyundai driver and possible passengers.
Speed and driver impairment have not yet been ruled out as factors involved in the investigation, police said.
