Hamilton Police investigating second ‘targeted’ shooting in a week

At approximately 11:00 p.m. Monday, police received reports of a shooting in the area of Glen Castle Drive and Mount Albion Road. Residents in the area reported hearing what sounded like gunshots.

Police checked the area and located evidence that a home was struck by bullets. The bullets caused some property damage.

Police believe the shooting to be targeted. At this time, police say, there are no suspect descriptors.

Last week, police reported a similar incident in Lower Stoney Creek. On Thursday (Jan. 16) at approximately 8:00 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Celtic Drive and Carpenter Avenue.

In that incident, bullet casings were found on the road and a bullet was found lodged in a door of a residence. No one was injured. That incident is also believed to be targeted.

Investigators are seeking witnesses in the most recent matter and residents in the area of Glen Castle and Mount Albion are asked to check their home security cameras.
