The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) is investigating the first shooting incident of 2021.
On Tuesday (Jan. 5), shortly after 12:30 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Upper Red Hill Valley Pkwy and Times Square Blvd.
“Through continued investigation, police learned two males attended a residence in the area attempting to gain entry,” said HPS. “They were unsuccessful and fled the scene.”
“During the incident, several gunshots were fired.”
No physical injuries were reported as a result of the shooting incident.

Police surveyed the area for “several hours” and say the investigation is ongoing.
“Area residents are asked to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity,” said police.
The incident is believed to be targeted.
