Hamilton police investigate shooting on West Mountain

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking assistance from the public in identifying suspects from a shooting that took place Monday night (Feb. 24).

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking assistance from the public in identifying suspects from a shooting that took place Monday night (Feb. 24).

Shortly before 10:00 p.m., Hamilton Police say they responded to the area of Limeridge Road West and Kendale Court for a report of shots fired.

Through investigation, police learned two men approached a man sitting in his parked car. The suspects fired several shots at the parked car and then fled on foot to an awaiting car, police said.

The victim was uninjured but his vehicle received a number of bullet holes as a result of the incident.

Police say the investigation is in the preliminary stages and it is unknown if this matter was targeted.

One of the suspects is described as a man standing approximately 5’9” tall and weighing 130 lbs. He was wearing a hoodie and bandana around his face at the time of the incident.

Police say that a vehicle of interest has been established. It is described as follows:

  • Mazda Hatchback
  • Dark coloured
  • Tinted windows
  • Dark hubcaps/rims

Police are asking for the assistance of the public in identifying the suspects and the vehicle involved. Residents in the area are urged to check their surveillance cameras for any suspicious activities and to contact police.
