Hamilton Police investigate road rage incident where pellet gun was fired

The Hamilton Police Service says they are investigating an incident in which a pellet gun discharged during a road rage incident.

On Sunday (Feb. 9) police say shortly after 8:25 p.m., they responded to a shooting in the area of Upper James and Fennell.

Investigation revealed that as the result of a road rage incident, two suspects had discharged what was believed to be a pellet gun at another vehicle.

The suspects fled in a grey Audi sedan. No plate was obtained.

Responding officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Upper Gage and Mohawk Road. Two suspects fled the vehicle on foot. Officers, along with a K-9 unit flooded the area and after a short period of time located one of the two suspects. The second suspect remains outstanding.

Officers recovered the pellet gun believed to be used in the incident.

A 20-year-old man is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
