Hamilton Police investigate Central Mountain shooting

Hamilton Police say they are investigating a shooting incident that took place late Monday night (Oct. 26) on the Central Mountain.

In a press release issued Tuesday (Oct. 27), police ask residents in the area of Stone Church Road East and Redmond Drive are asked to check their surveillance cameras for suspicious activity.

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. Monday, police say two groups of men were involved in a dispute in the area of 525 Stone Church Road East.

During the incident, police say a single gunshot was fired and the men dispersed before they arrived on the scene.

Once on scene, police secured the area and later discovered the single shot had struck an unoccupied parked vehicle.

At this time there is no information to suggest anyone sustained an injury as a result of the incident, police said.

Detectives from the Mountain Division Criminal Investigation Branch continue to investigate.
