Hamilton Police ask public to avoid area on the Mountain as they investigate shooting

Hamilton Police are on the scene of a shooting Firday (Oct. 2) afternoon on the central Mountain.

Just after 2 p.m. Hamilton polic tweeted out that traffic in the area of Upper James and Mohawk will be affected by the heavy police presence in the area.
Details of the shooting and any reports of injuries are yet to come, but police say a media officer is enroute to the scene.
Residents are asked to avoid the area for the time being as the investigation is underway.
