Hamilton Police said Wednesday (Jan. 8) that they have arrested another teen in connection to a series of high-end jacket robberies.

Police say the investigation into the robberies in the downtown area resulted in the arrest of another young man Tuesday night.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division along with uniform officers are said to have identified the suspect Tuesday.

He was arrested at his residence and brought into police custody.

The 17-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear at the John Sopinka Courthouse later Wednesday.

He is facing charges of:

The lastest robberies happened Monday night when in two separate incidents victims were assaulted and robbed of their coats.

The arrest of the 17-year-old comes one day after police apprehended two other teen suspects believed to be responsible for similar robberies that happened in December.

Police say the investigation remains open and anyone who believes they have information that could assist police with these crimes is urged to contact the Central Criminal Investigation Division at 905-546-3833 or email [email protected].
