Hamilton Police arrest and ID suspect in series of break-and-enter sex assaults in West End

Hamilton Police say they have arrested a Hamilton man as a result of an investigation into three separate sexual assaults that occurred in West Hamilton in 2019.

Hamilton Police say they have arrested a Hamilton man as a result of an investigation into three separate sexual assaults that occurred in West Hamilton in 2019.

On April 29, 2019, and July 26, 2019, three women were sexually assaulted after an unknown man entered their multi-unit residences in the area of Emerson Street and Ward Avenue.

All of the women were alone at the time of the assaults and all of the women were in their 20s.

The subsequent investigation led police to reopen a 2011 unsolved break and enter investigation where a woman was sexually assaulted in her residence.

Also, during the investigation, detectives discovered multiple incidents of voyeurism where women were recorded without their knowledge.

Investigators believe there may be other victims and are encouraging anyone who may have information to contact the police.

Police say on Tuesday (June 16), Dennis Rhodes (40-years-old) from Hamilton was arrested and remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on the following charges:

  • Break Enter and Commit X3
  • Sexual Assault X3
  • Forcible ConfinementX2
  • Disguised with intent X3
  • Voyeurism X3
