The Hamilton Police BEAR Unit continues to investigate a bank robbery from early September and are asking for information about the robbery or for the suspect to come forward.

On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the Royal Bank located at 545 Rymal Rd. E., to reports of a Robbery.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival, however, through investigation, police learned a lone male entered the bank and approached the wicket. He produced a note that stated it was a robbery and he was in possession of a weapon.

The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and then fled on foot, police say.

A weapon was not seen and no one was injured during the incident.

Investigators from the BEAR Unit are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the investigation.

The man is described as standing approximately six-feet tall, 180 lbs with a medium build and a light-brown beard. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap, sunglasses and a hooded coat.
