A Hamilton grandfather is celebrating after winning big on a scratch ticket.

Matthew Abraham of Hamilton is celebrating after winning a $100,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler, according to a press release issued by OLG on Wednesday (Oct. 28).

Abraham, a 52-year-old painter, said he plays a bit of everything.

“Instant tickets, Lotto 6/49 and Sports,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

The married father of four and grandfather of three said he used the OLG Lottery App to check his ticket.

“My daughter heard the winning jingle and jokingly asked, ‘How much am I getting?’” he said.

Abraham said he plans to purchase a condo and pay some bills with his winnings.

“I feel happy – I can take care of things and relax more. It’s a sigh of relief.”

OLG is now accepting in-person prize claims by appointment only for customers with prizes of $1,000 or more who wish to claim at the OLG Prize Centre.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Trethewey Drive in Toronto.
