Hamilton man linked to string of convenience store robberies arrested

Hamilton Police say they have arrested a man they say is responsible for a series of convenience store robberies in the city.

Hamilton Police say they have arrested a man they say is responsible for a series of convenience store robberies in the city.

After a lengthy investigation carried out by the HPS BEAR Unit, 38-year-old Wesley Uncles of Hamilton was arrested and appeared in court Thursday (Dec. 12).

Between Tuesday, October 8, 2019, and Monday, December 9, 2019, police say, three unrelated convenience stores in Hamilton were robbed by a man. In one of the robberies, the store clerk received non-life threatening injuries from a knife when he confronted the suspect.

Through continued investigation, the suspect was identified as Uncles and on Thursday he was arrested and search warrants were executed on his home and motor vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

Uncles is facing charges of:

  • Robbery X3
  • Disguise with intent X3
  • Aggravated Assault
