Hamilton man killed in single-car crash in Eastgate parking lot

A 66-year-old Hamilton man is dead following a single-car collision in the parking lot at Eastgate Square on Sunday night, Hamilton police say.

On Tuesday (April 14) Hamilton Police said their Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash.

On Sunday shortly after 5:00 p.m. Hamilton Police and Emergency Services were called to 75 Centennial Parkway North for a single-vehicle collision.

Initial information provided to police described a black 2018 Ford SUV travelling eastbound through the parking lot, striking the LCBO building.

The driver, a 66-year-old man from Stoney Creek succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The victim has not been identified.

With the information available at this time, police believe speed played a role in the collision. The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the possibility of other contributing factors.
