Hamilton man arrested in connection to bank robbery

Police say a 38-year-old man from Hamilton has been arrested and charged in connection to the robbery at the Royal Bank, located at 545 Rymal Rd. E. The suspect will appear in court later Friday (Oct. 18).

On Wednesday (Oct. 18), police requested assistance from the public in identifying a robbery suspect from September 10, 2019.

The Hamilton Police BEAR Unit received several tips from the public and Crime Stoppers which advanced the investigation and on Thursday a suspect was arrested. He was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing.

The investigation remains ongoing and Hamilton Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.

The man faces charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Disguise with intent
