A Hamilton woman is celebrating a big lotto win.

OLG says that Lynda Mogridge won a $50,000 top prize with Instant Bingo (Game #3030).

OLG says that Mogridge, a 62-year-old grandmother, is normally a regular Instant Crossword player. With her late husband’s birthday approaching she decided to pick up an Instant Bingo ticket in his memory.

“Instant Bingo was his favourite game,” she told OLG.

OLG says Mogridge was at home when she discovered her win.

“I saw all these numbers come up and I thought I messed up somewhere along the lines. I double-checked the ticket as much as I could and then called my sister-in-law and asked if I could pop by.”

OLG says Mogridge’s sister-in-law showed her the OLG Lottery App.

“We scanned the ticket and saw the Big Winner message and I thought I was going to fall over – we were so excited!”

OLG says a new car is in Mogridge’s immediate plans.

“My car died yesterday, so this is perfect timing – I’m test driving a blue Chevy Equinox. The rest is for retirement,” she said.

“It feels surreal, like you’re in a dream waiting to be woken up. There are no words to describe it other than it’s a really cool feeling,” she concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Big Bear Food Mart on Concession Street in Hamilton.

OLG is now accepting in-person prize claims by-appointment-only for customers with prizes of $1,000 or more who wish to claim at the OLG Prize Centre.
