Palmerino Cappella of Stoney Creek won the Sept. 22, Poker Lotto jackpot from OLG.
The 45-year-old father won $51,269.80 with a royal flush, plus an additional $5,000 after winning on the instant portion of his Poker Lotto play.
“I’m a regular Lotto Max and 6/49 player,” shared Palmerino, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “I decided to play Poker Lotto on a whim, and I’m very happy I did.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Pioneer on the Run on Highway 8 in Stoney Creek.
Palmerino, a waste management worker, says his win will go a long way in helping his kids through university. “I also plan to buy them a car, so they don’t have to borrow mine.”
OLG is now accepting in-person prize claims by appointment only for customers with prizes of $1,000 or more who wish to claim at the OLG Prize Centre.
