Hamilton Conservation Authority closing all locations

The Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) is closing all of their locations as of Wednesday (March 25) the agency announced Tuesday.

“As a result of Provincial direction to close non-essential business operations to support efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19, HCA has made the difficult decision to CLOSE all Hamilton Conservation Authority areas to the public, including membership pass holders,” a notice on their website says.
HCA says that anyone found in the areas after the closures will be considered trespassing.

They also say that parking infractions will be strictly enforced.
“The City of Hamilton has been made aware of these closures and Parking Enforcement Staff will be enforcing parking bylaws on municipal roadways for those who choose to ignore the closures and park illegally.”
The status of the HCA’s areas will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and the agency will be following directives of provincial and local public health services.
“The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and community is a top priority for Hamilton Conservation Authority,” the notice says.
