The organization also said that all public activities and events are suspended through to the end of April, and all safety precautions for staff and people on site are fully implemented.
All clients with appointments will be screened to ensure they are healthy to be on site.
“Our people – staff and volunteers – are our priority,” said CEO Marion Emo, in an Instagram post.
All scheduled spay/neuter appointments will continue as scheduled however we will NOT be booking any new appointments, the HBSPCA said.
Access to limited services will be sustained but distancing measures will be in effect and only until available people resources and supplies are no longer available and/or in the event the community situation changes, they said.
“We are watching the COVID-19 situation closely, Emo said. “At this time, we are deeply grateful for the support of our supporters and donors, and we look forward to restoring our clinics, classes and events when safe to do so.”
