Four new COVID-19 cases reported at Hamilton grocery stores – January 3

Loblaw is reporting several new COVID-19 cases at two of its store locations in Hamilton.

The cases were confirmed on Sunday, January 3 at the Fortinos located at 102 Highway #8 in Stoney Creek, and the Fortinos at 65 Mall Road.

Two employees at each location tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. The employees last worked on December 27 and December 28, and on December 24 and December 30, respectively.

“Given the important role we play in our communities, we are prepared for all possible situations, including a positive test for COVID-19 in our stores,” the company says.

“In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores.”
