Four employees from three grocery stores in Hamilton test positive for COVID-19

Multiple employees at three grocery stores in Hamilton have tested positive for COVID-19.

On Monday (May 17), management of the Fortinos located at 65 Mall Rd was notified that two employees had tested positive for the virus.

The last shifts the employees worked were on May 3 and 12.

Also on Monday, management of the Fortinos located at 54 Wilson Street West in Ancaster and the Fortinos located at 21 Upper Centennial Parkway South in Stoney Creek were notified an employee has tested positive for the virus.

The last shift the employee at the Ancaster location worked was on May 13, while the last shift the employee of the Stoney Creek location worked was on May 3.

“Given the important role we play in our communities, we are prepared for all possible situations, including a positive test for COVID-19 in our stores,” reads a statement from the parent company, Loblaw Companies Ltd.

“In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores,” the statement continued.
