According to the Hamilton Police Service, James Mcrae (30) of Kitchener and Pierre-Luc Plouffe (39) of Delhi were distributing weed and “other contraband” to inmates within the Barton St jail.

“The Hamilton Police Service Intelligence Unit and the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre jointly conducted a six-month investigation in relation to two Correctional Officers distributing illicit cannabis as well as other contraband to inmates within the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre.”

Police added they believe the two were working independently of one another and that they are no longer employed as correctional officers.
