Five arrested, over $1-million in drugs and weapons seized from Hamilton homes

Hamilton Police made five arrests and seized over $1-million worth of drugs and firearms in a pair of raids Thursday (July 24).

Hamilton Police made five arrests and seized over $1-million worth of drugs and firearms in a pair of raids Thursday (July 24).

“The Hamilton Police Service Vice and Drug and Gangs and Weapons Enforcement Units have continued to investigate drug and firearm offences within the City of Hamilton,” said police.

“An application was submitted to the court system requesting search warrants for two properties as well as a number of vehicles related to the investigation.”

Officers executed search warrants at a residence on the West Mountain as well as a home in Ancaster, leading to the seizure of cocaine, cannabis, cash, two assault rifles, a handgun, several other weapons, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia from the residences.

In total, Hamilton Police arrested five people including one male youth. Two adults were held for a bail hearing while the others were released with future court dates.
