Fire Department Responds To Accidental Fire Near Residential Building In Hamilton

Today (September 25) shortly before 3: 30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a fire at a residential facility near the intersection of Concession Street and Upper Wentworth Street.

Today (September 25) shortly before 3: 30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a fire at a residential facility near the intersection of Concession Street and Upper Wentworth Street.

Road closures were enacted as the immediate area was secured while emergency services addressed the fire.The Ontario Fire Marshall was contacted due to concerns raised.

Residents were safely evacuated and there were no injuries reported to police. After investigation, the fire is no longer deemed suspicious, but considered accidental.

The Ontario Fire Marshall was updated and determined they were no longer required to attend.

One Hamilton Fire truck remains at the scene in case of any hot spots. The barricades and road closures were removed and traffic resumed as of 7:30 p.m.
