Hamilton Police say that their Collision Reconstruction Unit has concluded that a fatal single-car crash in Mount Hope in March is the result of speed and impairment.

On Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 12:15 p.m. the Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit attended a single-car collision on Miles Road near English Church Road in Mount Hope.

A 28-year-old man from Binbrook lost control of his Honda Civic and struck a metal guard rail on Miles Road, south of English Church Road and left the roadway.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. This was the city’s third driving fatality of 2020, police say.

On Monday (July 6) it was announced in a press release issued by Hamilton Police that the investigation has determined that speed and impairment were contributing factors in the collision.
