Hamilton Police Service is investigating a Fail To Remain Motor Vehicle Collision.

On June 20th, 2020 just shortly after 2:50am, Hamilton Police responded to the report of a vehicle into a transformer on Ridge Rd. in Stoney Creek just east of 6th Road East.

The single car accident interrupted power to the area.

Upon arrival Police were directed to an area north of the accident where witnesses had observed involved parties flee from the scene.

Once in the area Police could hear two individuals calling for help. The occupants of the vehicle had inadvertently run off the escarpment and fallen some estimated 40-50ft down to the train tracks below.

FIRE/EMS attended. Fire deployed a rope rescue team retrieving both parties from down below.

Both parties were conscious, breathing and transported to hospital with injuries sustained from the fall.

Additional information received suggest there were 2 additional occupants in the vehicle yet to be located.

Police are concerned for their well being and asking the public in the immediate area to notify Police if they have any information that may lead to their whereabouts.

Alcohol may have been a factor.

If you believe you could assist Police with the investigation you are asked to contact Division 20 by calling 905-546-2929.
