A historic picture of the Sherman Cut has surfaced on social media and it’s pretty epic.

The photo, posted Tuesday (Nov. 26) by Redditor user glimmeruick, shows the very early days of the traffic intersection.

The poster says the picture was from the year 1956.

There are some pretty bare-bones safety measures in the photo which seems a little terrifying, but thankfully, in the intervening decades, there’s been some significant innovation and development that makes the area less death-defying.
