There’s something you don’t see everyday.
On Saturday evening, a power generator built by Prescision Specialized Inc. was being moved through the city — an effort that was assisted by eight power plant modules, one engineering, three railway and 10 utility companies, along with over 100 support vehicles.
“It’s been moving for the past five nights from Oakville and will go right to the Hamilton pier tonight,” Alectra Utilities said on Saturday.
The intersection of King and Centennial was temporarily closed on Saturday evening in order to move the generator safely.
After driving over 60 kilometres on the city’s roads, Hamilton police say the generator is now being transported by boat from the pier.
Alectra and police thanked residents for their patience during the monumental task.
