Hamiltonians will soon be getting a taste of Syrian Cuisine.

A new Syrian eatery, Tomah Restaurant and Cheesemaker, is setting up shop on Queen Street in the space that used to be occupied by Big Ed’s.

The restaurant is currently still in the process of finalizing menu details, but they are in the midst of a soft open, with plans for a grand opening sometime this fall.

Items on the current menu include sandwiches, cheese plates, salads and starters inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine and culinary practices.

The neighbourhood is already abuzz online with the news of Tomah’s arrival, and early reviews suggest their falafel will be pretty popular.
