63-Year-Old Man Driving Insane Speed Charged with Stunt Driving in Hamilton

Hamilton Police have seized the driver’s licence and vehicle of a 63-year-old Stoney Creek man after he was caught stunt driving.

Hamilton Police have seized the driver’s licence and vehicle of a 63-year-old Stoney Creek man after he was caught stunt driving.

On September 18 shortly after 4:30 p.m, police observed a westbound GMC Sierra pick-up truck that appeared to be travelling more than the posted speed limit while travelling eastbound on Mud Street near Second Road East. The vehicle was travelling at 129 km/hr in a posted 70 km/hr zone. 

The driver is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, October 16 to answer to the provincial offence charges, which include stunt driving and speeding 129km/hr in a posted 70km/hr zone. 

“In accordance with the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, stunt driving violations result in an immediate seven-day driver’s licence suspension and vehicle impoundment for the same period. If found guilty in court, the penalties for stunt driving could include a fine between $2000 – $10,000, up to six months in jail and a two-year licence suspension,” says Hamilton Police.
