16-year-old charged after making school threat in Hamilton

A teen is facing charges after allegedly directing a threat towards a school. 

Hamilton Police says officers are still investigating the threat allegedly made towards a Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board school.

Police say that on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, the HWCDSB received a post on their twitter page from a suspect who threatened an unspecified school. Detectives initiated an investigation and identified the alleged author of the post.

A 16-year-old male from Ancaster was arrested and charged on Monday evening. 

He was charged with uttering a threat to cause death or bodily harm. 

He was subsequently released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019.
