11-year-old War Amps representative from Hamilton receives mayoral honour

Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger honoured 11-year-old Dylan Hierlihy with a certificate for his community work and involvement with The War Amps on Thursday (Jan. 14).
Dylan, a Hamilton-native, was nine months old when he developed bacterial meningitis, resulting in the loss of his left leg below the knee, his right foot, and part of his right hand.
In a War Amps public service announcement, which aired across Canada last year, Dylan demonstrated his positive approach to life as an amputee.
