An exciting holiday festival is kicking off in Burlington soon.

The countdown to Burlington’s Lakeside Light Festival is now in the single digits and trust us you won’t want to miss this event.

Here’s everything we know.

Having launched in 1995, this festival is the City of Burlington’s longest running festival.

This year is the 23rd year of the Lakeside Light Festival.

Burlington residents, and anyone who is feeling festive, are invited to come out and stroll through 60 different lighting displays which will be set up at Spencer Smith Park.

The opening ceremony of this festival will be on Nov. 30 but the festival runs until Jan. 8, 2019.

At the opening ceremony festival-goers will have the chance to meet the Burlington Festival of Lights mascot – Twinkle.

Lighting displays will be shown from 4:30 p.m. to midnight daily, and there will be extended hours for this festival on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Orthodox Christmas, and New Years Day.

Many of the displays use LED lights in order to be more environmentally friendly.

“So far, LED lights have been retrofitted on many of the displays,” according to the official Burlington Lakeside Light Festival website.

“The LED light replacement program will continue to be an important priority as the displays are updated.”
