Victim in Fatal Burlington Crash Identified by Police

Police have identified the victim of a fatal crash that occurred in Burlington last weekend.

According to OPP, a 26-year-old Burlington man sustained life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash after a suspected street racing incident on the QEW near Guelph Line.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 21.
The man later died in hospital.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the victim, who was the passenger in a Toyota that collided with a barrier, has been identified as Jake David Bright.
Police say 23-year-old Hamilton man Jacob David Gliddon has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.
He was held for a bail hearing.
Police allege the single-vehicle collision occurred while the suspect vehicle was racing.
“Witnesses reported vehicles racing one another between Ford Drive and Guelph Line. We are still investigating that collision, we are appealing for any witnesses who may have information or the drivers of other vehicles to come forward,” says Schmidt.
Schmidt says the vehicles continued westbound from Ford Drive through Oakville into Burlington. In Burlington, the black Toyota crashed into the median.
Police say a grey Audi may have been involved. According to police, any other vehicles fled the scene.
