Colombian coffee lovers are about to have twice as many Vereda Central Coffee Roasters locations in Oakville to fill that need for a caffeine infusion.

Known for its limited edition special coffee beans based from Bogota in Central Colombia, the popular shop will be serving premium coffee to local residents when it opens another location later this month at the Upper Oakville Shopping Centre on 1011 Upper Middle Road.

Coffee lovers will be able to choose from their single originals like Palestina and El Encanto, to blended coffees such as Papagayo and Black Condor. Or try some of their limited edition San Pedro coffee.

Owned by Juan Sarmiento and Laura Roa, the immigrant couple opened their first Vereda Central store on Kerr Street in 2018.

A hands-on approach to sourcing facilitates the precise traceability of every coffee bean they roast.

They make sure to adhere to Responsible Trade with local Colombian farmers, ensuring they are embedded in every step of their coffee bean sourcing process.

“Our goal is to establish long-term relationships with all of our growers, because our roots will always lie in Colombia,” the coffee roasters say on their website.

“We analyze samples of each crop and discuss our findings with the farmer at no cost to them so that they may adjust their agricultural techniques to meet our standards and to continually improve their product.”

The Kerr St. location is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Hours at the new Upper Canada Shopping Centre location have yet to be determined, but they are likely to be similar to those at the Kerr St. location.
