UPDATE: Take These Precautions Before Using Water in Milton

An update has been issued regarding the Boil Water Advisory in Milton, which was issued on December 7 due to a watermain break.

As of 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, the advisory has been lifted.

Test results have confirmed that the water is safe to drink, according to a statement from Halton Region.

As a precaution, residents and businesses are asked to do the following before using their water:

Run cold faucets for a minimum of one minute.
Remove and clean all screens and aerators on taps.
Run drinking water fountains for a minimum of one minute.
Run all water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
Drain and refill hot water heaters set below 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit).
Drain and flush all ice-making machines and soda fountain machines.

Restaurants and facilities that were closed due to the advisory will be reopening.
