An update has been issued regarding the Boil Water Advisory in Milton, which was issued on December 7 due to a watermain break.
An update has been issued regarding the Boil Water Advisory in Milton, which was issued on December 7 due to a watermain break.
As of 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, the advisory has been lifted.
Test results have confirmed that the water is safe to drink, according to a statement from Halton Region.
As a precaution, residents and businesses are asked to do the following before using their water:
- Run cold faucets for a minimum of one minute.
- Remove and clean all screens and aerators on taps.
- Run drinking water fountains for a minimum of one minute.
- Run all water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
- Drain and refill hot water heaters set below 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Drain and flush all ice-making machines and soda fountain machines.
Restaurants and facilities that were closed due to the advisory will be reopening.
