Update: Distressed Halton coyote found and treated for injuries

A wayward coyote in the Oakville area is in need of assistance.
The coyote in question has unfortunately gotten its head stuck in a jar, according to this Facebook post as of Saturday, November 9.
According to Facebook user Sarah Ma, this photo was taken in the off-leash area of the park on the Bronte side of the park (park entrance from Bronte Road and Upper Middle). The off-leash area is located on the left after the Park Gate House.
Coyote Watch Canada and the Toronto Wildlife Centre are also aware of the situation.

“They (OMHS) have been trying to capture him for several days. Although this coyote is in distress, s/he is still actively fleeing, jumping over brush edges and staying in more forested areas which complicates the rescue efforts,” Coyote Watch said on their Facebook post.
“Please DO NOT CALL about old sightings as this is not helpful,” they added.
Anyone who has spotted the coyote are asked to contact the Oakville and Milton Humane Society at 905-845-1551.
UPDATE: the Oakville and Milton Humane Society have reported that they found the coyote. The container has been removed from its head and the coyote is recovering at Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge.
