William McIntyre was just 32-years-old when his body was found.
According to police, on April 21, 1984 the body of the victim, was discovered inside his Oakville apartment.
Police say that a post mortem examination showed that the victim died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was a police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police.
The victim was the supervisor of a plain-clothes investigative unit.

According to police, it is still unknown if the death of the victim is related to his duties as a police officer.
