Two Burlington men face drugs, weapons charges after big bust

Two Burlington residents are facing charges following a massive drug bust this week in the city.

On Thursday (Nov.12), Halton Regional Police confirmed that investigators from Burlington Street Crime Unit charged two men following a one-week investigation into individuals they say are responsible for drug trafficking in the city of Burlington.

Police report that during the investigation a search warrant was executed at a Burlington residence.

As a result, five grams of Fentanyl, 28.3 grams of MDMA, two digital scales, one cellphone, $135 of cash, a folding knife and a butterfly knife was located and seized.

Police report that $3,200 worth of drugs were seized and the men have been charged with trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Officers say two Burlington residents, 23-year-old Brent Balfour and 25-year-old Jake Urech have both been released on undertakings.
