Two arrested after early morning Oakville hotel robbery

A gunpoint robbery outside of an Oakville hotel has led to charges against two people.

Halton Regional Police the robbery took place this morning (Nov. 9) around 4 a.m. at the Sandman Hotel located on South Service Rd.

Police say a guest of the hotel was standing outside when he was approached by a man and woman, one of whom was armed with gun.

They took the victim’s money and fled the scene in car but were stopped and arrested by police a short time later. A handgun was found.

Robert Campbell, 25, of Richmond Hill has been charged with the following:

• Robbery with a firearm
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
• Carless use of a firearm
• Possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
• Tampering with the serial number
• Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
• Pointing a firearm

Kaylee Zelnicker, 20, of Thornhill has been charged with the following:

• Robbery with a firearm
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
• Carless use of a firearm
• Possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
• Tampering with the serial number
• Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
