Now that Oakville has entered Stage 3, paid parking has returned.
As of Aug 4, parking fees for Downtown Oakville, Kerr Village and Bronte Village will resume.
Additionally, the Town is implementing added conveniences in the three shopping districts.
These measures include $5 off parking fees for drivers using the HONK mobile app for the first time by using the promo code OAK2020, which is good until the end of the year.
- Additional construction to take place in Oakville following reopening of Lakeshore Road
- Ontario reports 1,589 new COVID-19 cases today, 42 in Halton
- First phase of William Halton Parkway opens Sunday in Oakville
Additionally, those visiting Downtown Oakville can get their first hour of parking free using the code DOWNTOWN with the HONK app.
Further, parking is in all three business improvement areas after 6 p.m., on Saturdays for the rest of the year, and on Sundays.
“We’re excited our shopping areas are open for business. Council and I thank you for continuing to crush the curve. With businesses reopening, and new patios being installed, paid parking will help ensure there is vehicle turnover and improve access to our beautiful shopping districts for all to enjoy. I encourage you to shop local, take advantage of our free parking promotions, and stay safe,” Mayor Rob Burton said in a news release.
Moreover, the Town will be reinstating three-hour on-street parking limits as of August 4. Those who require more time for on-street parking can request a temporary street parking permit online.
Parking enforcement staff will be issuing warning tickets in the first few days of implementation.
