With such a large population, it’s no surprise that its cuisine can differ so greatly from state to state. Prince of India’s menu has gone so far as to offer dishes from the tiny state of Goa, India. Prawn Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, and Goan Fish Curry are all interesting options on their menu, along with some Indian classics like Butter Chicken and Palak Paneer. This fusion resto constantly surprises me. While it claims to be a Mediterranean restaurant, there are some brilliantly cooked Indian options on this menu that make it more than worthy of its spot on this list. Tandoori Salmon, one of the better Butter Chickens I’ve had in a long time, and a Madras Curry Penne Pasta that simply blew me away! That penne was an unorthodox surprise, but with the perfect balance of cream and curry, it almost seemed as though this is how it was always meant to be had; pure genius!
This lovely little sit down really delivers some quality items. Their sizzling plate of tandoori is an absolute winner! Tandoori Chicken is seasoned with Tandoori spices (no surprises there) and is usually cooked in a tandoor oven or on a grill with a fresh squeeze of lime. If you’re a chicken lover that hasn’t tried this version of the bird, I highly recommend you set a note on your calendar; you can thank me later. Along with a good list of Indian dishes, Bombay’s Chutney also has Cheetah beer. What’s so special about that you may ask? Mango. Flavoured. Brew. Enjoy responsibly!
If you’re an Indian food lover in Burlington, I don’t think this comes as a surprise to you. They’ve been around for some time and have established themselves as one of the premier Indian restaurants in the city. The basics like Butter Chicken, and Palak Paneer are made beautifully. This is often a good indicator of what the rest of their menu will be like. Their Biryani is no different! A colourful and fluffy rice dish with spices and meats (or meat substitutes), a Biryani is often had as a meal all by itself. At times it’s accompanied with a yogurt-based sauce that is meant to moisten and possibly cool down the spice of the dish itself. While Bombay Grill’s biryani is not too spicy, it is incredibly flavourful and a must try on their menu!
