Man, oh man, can you ever taste the quality of this meat … Organic chicken wings are made fresh to order and tossed in house-made sauce. Battered not breaded, the medium sauce is wundebar (insert groan) with a nice kick. The honey garlic is light and doesn’t taste artificial or sickly sweet like most counterparts. This is a welcome change for health-conscious folks who’ve still got love for wings. Top it off with stellar service and we’ve got a solid contender for best wings.

The popular Streetsville Neapolitan wood oven pizza restaurant that’s known for its rustic-chic interior, homemade southern Italian dishes and exclusive Italian wine selection, officially opened its doors in Halton at 22 Ontario St. S., across from the Milton Mall, in a former Re/Max realty office. Finally. It’s an ideal place to break all of your new year’s resolutions. With authentic Neapolitan wood oven pizza, the menu focuses on authentic Southern Italian cuisine. A variety of legit Napoletana pizzas include the Margherita Pizza, topped with San Marzano sauce, mozzarella fiore di latte, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil. You’ll also find Romano pizza and homemade pastas, all made in-house. The Maccheroni alla Carbonara pasta dish includes pancetta, egg yolks, pecorino romano, and black pepper. The mozzarella di bufala, and parmigiano-reggiano cheeses are some of the ingredients they use imported directly from Italy. Goodfellas boasts an extensive Italian wine selection which pairs beautifully with great eats.
This Ford Dr. joint opened in 2016 and is now my go-to spot for a quick sandwich in southeast Oakville. After driving past numerous times, I finally decided to check it out and dude, have I been missing out! The combination of tahini, garlic sauce, and hot sauce drizzled over fresh chicken, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and turnips sent me over the edge. You’ve got to try this shawarma, and order it fully loaded. Best of all, it’s cheap!
Delicious bites await at this tiny vegan/gluten-free eatery renowned for its menu. I had the Power Bowl, a nutritious dish made up of organic steamed quinoa, grilled sweet potatoes, black beans, braised kale, avocado, grilled portobello mushroom, brazil nut parmesan, and lemon tahini sauce. It was beyond delicious and full of so many complementary flavours. It was chased with an ice-cold Pure Chocolate Love smoothie comprised of almond milk, raw cacao powder, cacao butter, coconut oil, bananas, dates, cacao nibs, and sea salt. It wasn’t a sweet drink and I loved everything about it. Needless to say, I’ll be returning to try all of the drinks, including the newest addition to the menu: hot blendies, such as Power Coffee, and Spicy Hot Chocolate.
If you’re in downtown Oakville past 11 p.m., then you’re most likely at Bru. This trendy gastropub is gaining popularity among craft beer enthusiasts (there are more than 15 varieties) and night owls alike. They have everything from apps, salads and entrees on the menu, which includes a top sirloin steak. Getting anything cooked past medium rare should be a crime, we believe, and that’s the way we got our steak. The kitchen keeps it 100 at Bru and needless to say, it was cooked to perfection. If you’re looking for a bonafide hipster hot spot in Oakville, Bru is your go-to resto. And it’s also a great place for a solid steak.
