Top 5 Hottest Restaurants in Oakville, Burlington, and Milton: July 28 – August 3

Here are the 5 hottest restaurants in Halton for the week of July 28 to August 3, based on the amount of organic page views and searches these restaurants received on

5. Easterbrooks Hotdog Stand

This Aldershot institution is obviously the champ … you can’t mess with the best. Easterbrooks has an endless stream of loyal customers to remind you of such legen-dairy (you knew it was coming!) status. While you’re waiting for an ice cream cone, look around — the shop’s ceiling and walls are covered in business cards collected over the years. Records, newspaper clippings, and an arcade game will keep you entertained (and thanking Mable Easterbrook for switching over to hot dogs after four years — she opened shop in 1926 as a tea house!). Since 1930, they’ve served more than 1,653 miles of hot dogs and more than 533 tonnes of ice cream. The good stuff – Central Smith Ice Cream – comes from Peterborough. Flavours include Algonquin Canoe, Maple Walnut, Salted Caramel, Black Raspberry Cheesecake, and Tiger Tail. I stepped out of my comfort zone and went with Black Cherry … it was divine. You can choose from waffle cones to sugar cones or sundaes, and if you’re really craving a treat, get a milkshake. They now have malted shakes which taste like Maltesers candy (my sister will love this news!). Keep in mind, it’s debit or cash only.

4. Goodfellas

The popular Streetsville Neapolitan wood oven pizza restaurant that’s known for its rustic-chic interior, homemade southern Italian dishes and exclusive Italian wine selection, officially opened its doors in Halton at 22 Ontario St. S., across from the Milton Mall, in a former Re/Max realty office. Finally. It’s an ideal place to break all of your new year’s resolutions. With authentic Neapolitan wood oven pizza, the menu focuses on authentic Southern Italian cuisine. A variety of legit Napoletana pizzas include the Margherita Pizza, topped with San Marzano sauce, mozzarella fiore di latte, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil. You’ll also find Romano pizza and homemade pastas, all made in-house. The Maccheroni alla Carbonara pasta dish includes pancetta, egg yolks, pecorino romano, and black pepper. The mozzarella di bufala, and parmigiano-reggiano cheeses are some of the ingredients they use imported directly from Italy. Goodfellas boasts an extensive Italian wine selection which pairs beautifully with great eats.

3. Pho MaMa

Ever finish your pho and want a little more? It’s a little awkward because then you feel like ordering another one, but then you may just worry that you’re being judged. First off, life is short, eat well. Second, instead of getting a regular sized pho, why not an XL sized one? Their beef rice noodle pho comes in 3 sizes with a choice of 3 different meats. These meat options include rare beef, brisket, stewed tripe, beef tendon, beef balls, and chicken! Now that’s quite a list, but just look at the size of that bowl – all for less than $15.

2. Bombay’s Chutney

This lovely little sit down really delivers some quality items. Their sizzling plate of tandoori is an absolute winner! Tandoori Chicken is seasoned with Tandoori spices (no surprises there) and is usually cooked in a tandoor oven or on a grill with a fresh squeeze of lime. If you’re a chicken lover that hasn’t tried this version of the bird, I highly recommend you set a note on your calendar; you can thank me later. Along with a good list of Indian dishes, Bombay’s Chutney also has Cheetah beer. What’s so special about that you may ask? Mango. Flavoured. Brew. Enjoy responsibly!

1. Mye 1

Oakville – south

As mentioned above, the Mye restaurant brand is the best in Oakville and the original Mye is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Oakville in the Lakeshore and Trafalgar area. It is located in what looks like an old house and they have modernized it by partitioning the dining room off with glass. We had the exact same seven course-tasting menu as we had in Mye 2 with just one difference at the original Mye. There was a crab claw in my sunomono salad, which Mye 2 didn’t have. The location of this Mye restaurant with the combination of the fresh crab claw makes this location just an inch better than Mye 2!
