This postal code in Milton has a high 14.36% COVID-19 positivity rate

One area in Milton is among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario.

Toronto-based research group ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of May 9 to 15.

Milton postal code L9E (area of Britannia Rd and Bronte St South) has the 32nd highest positivity at 14.36%.

Halton’s overall positivity is 7.07%, ranking ninth out of Ontario’s 34 public health units.

Ontario overall is listed eighth at 7.18%.

For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of May 9 was 7.2%, a small drop from 7.7% the previous week.

Ontario has reached 54% overall vaccine coverage, up 8% from the previous week.

ICES says we’re seeing declining COVID-19 testing rates among school-aged children (elementary to secondary) and very high percent positivity but declining incidence of COVID-19 across multiple public health units (including Peel at 25.9% – 30.9%).

Testing rates are also declining slightly among young adults aged 18-22 years.
